Rupert Racing

We have been studying a science unit on position and motion. As part of this learning, students were challenged to design and build some form of transportation for Rupert. We had a great time testing them out!

Juggling!

This year our phys ed program will be incorporating circus activities! We got a taste of this with a presentation by a juggling champion today. The students were very excited to see what he could do!

Welcome to a new year!

Hello everyone, and welcome to a new year! After getting all the signed permission forms, and finding a work-around to get technology cooperating, we are finally ready to start sharing some of our school experiences with you!

This time for The Integrated Arts we are learning about aboriginal art. Our first session included a gallery walk of all kinds of aboriginal art and artifacts that students got to touch and interact with. This time, we learned about the traditional medicine wheel, and made one out of paper.

Solids, liquids, and gasses: boats

As part of our study of solids, liquids, and gasses, we explored things that float and sink. Students were then challenged to create a plan to build something that would float, would be able to hold a small item, and would be made out of at least 3 materials. Once the plan was finished, they got right to building their creations!

Day at the museum!

All of the Grade 2 students enjoyed a very busy day of learning and fun at the Manitoba Museum!We had a session learning about the history of our Winnipeg community and another about  solids, liquids, and gasses. We also had a chance to explore both the main and science galleries.
