We have been singing!

A great way to learn a new language is through singing! Singing along helps students to learn new vocabulary, sentence structure, and practice proper pronunciation. The first song we have learned this year is L'automne est arrivé! Check it out and sing along at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dJ4E222lEE

We have also started revisiting an old favourite - C'est l'halloween! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oLUIopGXEQQ

It's fall!

Lice!

As you may have heard, there have been some cases of lice in the school. Today the students read a book with Mme Dickens and we discussed ways to prevent spreading lice. Please be aware of this and encourage your child not to share anything that comes in contact with their heads!

En français, s'il vous plaît!

This afternoon we have started a points system to encourage the class to speak French. I am especially looking for students to speak French not only to their teachers, but to each other! We have only been at it for a few hours, but I am blown away by how much many students are able to put together to express themselves in French - Bravo!!

Pokemon cards are great at home!

Hello families! Due to recent problems with Pokemon cards, we are now asking that Pokemon cards stay at home and do not return to school for the rest of the school year. Thank you for your support of this!

Meet our tadpoles!

We have had the opportunity to have some tadpoles (les têtards) join our class. We are observing them as they grow and change, and are learning about their life cycle. We are just starting to see the start of tiny legs on some of them.

100 Day!

This afternoon we celebrated the 100th day of school with lots of math activities around the number 100!

We made crowns decorated with 100 things.

We counted 100 toys.

We put numbers in order both concretely and on the iPads.

We played games by rolling dice to add up to 100, and by finding numbers that were out of order.

Thanks to our guest readers!

A big thank-you to our guest readers Mme Lisa, baby Nora and Mme Fio who came in to read with us during our last week of I Love To Read month.  We really enjoyed having them in our classroom.   We hope that they will come back and read to us again another time.
